The 230km Larapinta Trail from end-to-end is a landscape lovers paradise and a photographers dream! Experience this ancient landscape through the vibrant images of Northern Territory photographer, Louise Denton. Louise shares personal insight on her experience of the trail as a photographer, in the hope of inspiring others to experience this ancient landscape for themselves. This is one of Australias most spectacular treks, revealing more natural diversity than one would expect of this arid landscape. Hikers are rewarded every mountain climbed, with incredible vistas as the track snakes across rocky ridge-lines heading ever-closer to the distinguished outline of Mount Sonder in the east. The trail zig-zags its way down into dramatic gullies and gorges, revealing hidden water supplies and fragile micro-habitats in an otherwise harsh environment.Following the mountains of the West MacDonnell Ranges has plenty to offer without the long-distance hike! Through pages of the book soak up the epitmone of the Red Centre - outback colours, unique geological formations, deep blue waterholes and majestic ghost gums. Enjoy beautiful photography of Simpsons Gap, Ellery Creek, Ormiston Gorge, the Ochre Pits, Glen Helen and Redbank Gorge, which intersect the Larapinta hike. The perfect keepsake, a reminder of this awesome part of Australia.
