In Sydney Love, Elyn takes you on a journey through this iconic city from dreamy harbour-side locations such as the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, to colourful art hubs where artists have left their mark on the streets and in galleries. Follow her through secret gardens and vibrant spring walks, along city streets and inside buildings dressed beautifully for Christmas. Experience Sydneys dramatic moods from tropical storms to atmospheric foggy mornings, romantic warm sunsets and sun-drenched days the city is so well-known for. Explore moonlit nights and enjoy the people and places in classic black and white street photography. Sydney Love is a book for lovers of photography, travel and those who dream of visiting this gorgeous city. It is also a story of hope, resilience and the powerful effect of beauty on the human spirit.

Elyn has always understood the power of beauty on the human spirit and focuses on this in her work as a portrait, fashion and lifestyle photographer. During the months leading up to and healing from the brain surgery that saved her life, she tapped into this belief on a daily basis which led to a full recovery, a grateful heart and the making of her first book Magnificent Now: Sydney Love. She lives in Sydney, Australia with her husband and daughter. * Sydney Love is unique in that it is an intimate portrait of the city by someone who lives in Sydney - it is not an outsiders view. * It is also unique in that the book celebrates and focuses solely on Sydney, the city itself. It is not a book on Australia that features Sydney and it doesn’t include day trips outside of the city. For this reason, it possibly fills a gap in the market. * The book is a personal journey that the reader can go on with the author and through the photographs. It has a feeling of being personal and intimate. * The book includes the author’s story of facing a major health challenge (brain surgery to remove a large aneurysm) at a young age and finding a way through it positively. It is an ultimately uplifting story that many readers may enjoy, relate to and be inspired by. * Part of the author’s story involves her love of Sydney, it’s culture, history and energy; and how she left a quiet seaside town to build a life and career in this city. * The book was written and photographed as a way to focus on the beauty of everyday life while going through brain surgery and recovery. This process was both cathartic and a way to celebrate everyday life. * Sydney Love took two years to create and includes some photographs from previous significant events in the city, such as the dust storm in 2009. Marketing: * Regular social media posts (Facebook and Instagram in particular at this point). * Video, as well as photographic and text posts on social media. * Paid advertisements on social media. * Paid Google Adwords campaigns. * Book review websites and magazines. * Self-published author events. * Possible tv and radio appearances - part of the book includes my personal story that viewers may find uplifting, inspiring or be able to relate to. * Reaching out to influencers that may feature my book on their platforms.
