First published in London in 1848, "The Communist Manifesto" is a work of literary power as well as historical insight. This paperback edition is prepared to mark the publication's 150th anniversary, and includes: a new foreword by Marxist scholar Paul Sweezy; the full text of "The Communist Manifesto" in a hand-set typeface; "Principles of Communism", which was drafted in 1847 by Engels as a basis for the "Manifesto"; and "The Communist Manifesto After 150 Years" - an interpretative essay by Ellen Meiksins Wood.
Karl Marx (1818-1883) and Friedrich Engels (1820-1895) were German-born social philosophers who lived much of their lives in England.
The communist manifesto; principles of communism; "The Communist Manifesto 150 Years Later"
