Harold F. Bass Jr. is professor emeritus of political science at Ouachita Baptist University, where he has been teaching since 1976. He specializes in studies of the American presidency and political parties, with a focus on presidential party leadership. He has authored numerous journal articles, book chapters, and book reviews on these topics. Active in the political science profession at the state, regional, and national levels, he is a former president of both the Arkansas Political Science Association and the Southwestern Social Science Association.
