This guidebook describes The Skye Trail, a challenging week-long trek across the largest island in Scotland's Inner Hebrides, the Isle of Skye. From Rubha Hunish in the north, the Skye Trail heads along the Trotternish Ridge and past the Cuillin to Broadford in the south. Suitable for experienced backpackers and mountain walkers.
Paul and Helen Webster have a lifelong passion for walking and exploring the outdoors. In 2003-4 they undertook a 4000-mile continuous backpack across Europe, an experience which left them believing that travelling on foot allows you to see things and meet people that might otherwise be overlooked. While living on the Isle of Skye, Paul and Helen established Walkhighlands, a free interactive online guide to walking in Scotland, and have been lucky enough to be able to spend as much time as possible exploring the whole of Scotland on two feet. Paul and Helen have written 23 walking books about Scotland, including a guide to the Munros, and they are both actively involved in various conservation and tourism organisations, including the John Muir Trust and Mountaineering Scotland.
