Working as a volunteer in a kennel for cats, philosopher Federica Sgarbi discovered to her surprise that applying the thoughts of the great philosophers was a very successful way of finding new homes for abandoned cats. Using her knowledge of philosophy she delved deep into the minds of individual rescue cats and their prospective owners. Writing successful lonely cat ads in a local newspaper, she was able to match them to the type of person whose life would improve by adopting them. In this charming and uplifting book, she describes the philosophy she developed and what we can all learn from our feline friends. Particularly recommended for those who read with a cat sleeping by their side.
Federica Sgarbi is a passionate cat-lover. She runs a volunteer kennel for rescue cats. She has a degree in philosophy and in psychology and is currently working on a PhD in philosophy. The inspiration for the book came when some of her friends joked that philosophers were impractical.
