Dáithí Mac Cárthaigh is a practising barrister in both civil and criminal law, practising in both the Irish and English languages. He has appeared in several high–profile and reported cases in both the Irish and EU Courts. He has published on a wide range of topics as diverse as statutory interpretation, white collar crime and planning law. He has recently published a seminal work An Ghaeilge sa Dlí on the Irish language and the law. He is the law and Irish academic coordinator at King’s Inns, overseeing courses in lawyer-linguistics (EU), legal translation and legal practice through Irish.
