As the 1970s drew to a close and changes in music, fashion and attitudes collided to form Punk, Sheila Rock was right at the heart of the electrifying youth movement. Whether candid or posed, her striking photographs perfectly capture the innocence of the early days, the DIY fashion ethos and the raw energy of Punk.

Sheila Rock is a professional photographer living in London. In addition to being featured in numerous books, magazines and private commissions, her work is housed in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London. The photo-journalistic images of Punk in this book were taken in the early stages of her career. She continued to capture the changes in youth culture and music for over a decade while working with magazines such as The Face. She is currently working on a number of fine art projects and exhibits internationally. Punk+ was her second book.
