Sydney has one of the most beautiful settings in the world, but its not just the Harbour that is capable of creating a little magic. In and around Sydney are stirring headlands, parks large and small (with excellent facilities), undisturbed bushland and slow, peaceful rivers. There are thousands of places to spread out a picnic blanket, unpack a hamper and soak up the great Australian outdoors, and in Sydneys Best Picnic Spots, Parks & Reserves youll find the very best of them. Coverage includes the Royal National Park in the south, the Blue Mountains and Wisemans Ferry in the north.
Veechi Stuart is a freelance journalist and former Sydney Morning Herald columnist. Veechi is passiionate about bushwalking, the local community and the environment. She is the author of two other Woodslane guides: Blue Mountains Best Bushwalks and Sydneys Best Bush, Park and City Walks.
Andrew Swaffer has worked in publishing for over 20 years, several of these writing for the Footprint series of travel guides (co-authoring two Australian guides with Katrina OBrien), and now works for local Sydney publisher Woodslane Press. His love of the outdoors led him to develop this new series of Woodslane outdoor guides.
Catherine Proctor is a freelance author and editor who has lived on Sydneys Northern Beaches for over 20 years. She is the author of several books including Sydneys Best Dog Walks, Parks and Places to Play.
