Kim and Amy are best friends from two completely different backgrounds. Although Kim and Amy are different in many ways, they share one common passion – food. They take us on a culinary journey of East meets West through their traditions, lives, families and homes.
Author: Pho is a mother, educator and newly published children’s author. She passionately works in special education and developed a love of reading from a very young age. Her favourite books were The Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, followed by the Nancy Drew and The Babysitters Club series. Pho came to Australia from Cambodia as a refugee with her family. She enjoys cooking, eating, camping and spending time with her family. She has two fur babies, Lulu and Simba, and lives in Western Sydney with her wonderful husband and amazing children. Keep an eye out for her second book Lamingtons and Dumplings to see if you recognise any familiar names! Illustrator: Annelies Billeter is based in Melbourne and graduated with a Diploma of illustration in 2002. After working in children’s textile and clothing design for many years, her passion for illustrating children’s books was reignited through having her own two young children. She loves to depict people and family life and enjoys working in traditional watercolour as well and exploring digital mediums. Previously an honours graduate with BMUS Performance, viola, she is fortunate to be able to combine all her loves of music performance, teaching young children violin and illustration.
