We can’t avoid difficult days, but we can meet them well.
All mothers will face difficult days—whether they’re navigating the beautiful but exhausting transition from woman to mother (matrescence); experiencing the wonder and tantrums of toddler town; supporting a small person in their schooling and social skills; or guiding their teen through the highs and lows of almost-grown-up life.
The Emotional Support for Mothers Toolkit helps these mothers meet their difficult days well.
Grounded in the reality of day-to-day parenting, it embraces mothers as real people who make mistakes and fail, and provides practical ways they can meet the full joy and catastrophe of parenting with greater confidence and ease.
Full of supportive practices and compassionate guidance, it has been designed to help busy, overwhelmed mothers:
* Work through challenging emotions
* Support their nervous system in times of stress
* Build skills in emotional self-regulation and resilience and
* Develop greater self-compassion, emotional wisdom and mindfulness.
The Emotional Support for Mothers Toolkit includes:
* 100+ simple, self-led, science-based activities that can be done anywhere in five minutes or less
* Individual and family-based practices that build resilience and emotional wisdom in both parents and children
* An in-depth guidebook, deeper practices and further support to proactively build self-knowledge, self-compassion and emotional wisdom.
Australian compassion teacher and author Belinda Haan drew on her extensive experience working with mothers, and as a mother herself, to create this beautiful toolkit. Writing with compassion and honesty, she sensitively weaves practical parenting approaches, modern science and contemplative wisdom through every practice and every page.
The result is a product that provides much needed emotional solace, support and skill building to mothers on their most difficult days—and on every day after.

* Unlike other parenting books that focus on the needs of the child, the Emotional Support for Mothers Toolkit is specifically designed to focus on the needs of the mother without reinforcing impossible standards of parenting.
* It provides a how-to of nervous system support, emotional self-regulation, resilience and wisdom, and is a practical toolkit to support mothers in times of stress when their ability to take in, and act on, new information is greatly reduced.
* It provides simple, self-led activities mothers can do at home in just 5 minutes or less as well as deeper guidance and family-based practices designed to help mothers develop, role model and teach essential life skills to their children.
* The Toolkit was developed under Stanford University’s Applied Compassion Training at the Center for Compassion and Altruism Education and Research (CCARE).
* This beautifully designed toolkit is perfect for mothers of babies, toddlers, children and teenagers. It makes a meaningful and thoughtful gift for Mother’s Day, new mothers, birthdays and just because. And it is a wonderful resource for therapists, coaches, GPs, psychologists, maternal health practitioners and anyone who supports mothers.
Publicity:
* An external marketing and PR firm has been engaged to deliver the following core activities in the first three months:
* Launch events in Kingscliff/Gold Coast/Byron area and Brisbane, with other cities in 2024
