The DIY Newsroom is a seminal and fresh work on communicating today, a must-read for anyone seeking to cut through the jungle of information that confronts consumers every minute of the day.

Stuart Howie is a communications strategist, speaker and journalist with more than 30 years in traditional and new media. He is known for designing and implementing big transformation programs in Australia and New Zealand. As the editorial director of Fairfax Media’s regional network overseeing more than 160 titles and 800 staff across Australia, he redefined newsroom operations. He then set up his consultancy, Flame Tree Media, to pass on his expertise to others. Stuart is a former editor of Illawarra Mercury and The Courier, Ballarat, and a former deputy and acting editor of The Canberra Times.
