Debbie Smith is an author of picture books, middle grade, short stories and poetry. She is a creative who enjoys drawing, painting, crafts and sewing and is working on a variety of projects. She has won a number of awards for her short stories and poetry. Her lifelong career as an early childhood and primary teacher allowed her insight and a peek into the world of children. She is passionate about children and animals and the importance of quality friendships. When she volunteered as a Wildlife Carer, Debbie successfully hand-raised four beautiful orphaned possums: two ringtails called Tamigotchi and Saori, and two brushtails called Penny and Sheldon. She lives in Noosa, Queensland with her husband, scallywag Cavoodle Oscar and crazy cat Oliver. When she’s not creating, she spends time at the beach or on a beautiful farm working with her appaloosa foal, Joey. Emma Middleton is a picture book author, illustrator, children’s performer and former ballerina who lives near Noosa, Queensland. After a career in performing arts, during which time she danced for the Vienna Ballet, she returned to Australia to direct and teach at The Brighton Dance Academy. Emma retired from teaching dance to follow her passion for picture books by creating stories that will enhance a child’s sense of wonder, delight and unlimited possibility. Emma has illustrated numerous picture books and is the author of companion picture books The Lion in our Living Room and The Bear in our Backyard.
