In this intriguing choose-your-own-adventure novel, Ben and Sophie are plunged headfirst into the journey of their lives. Collecting Sacred Keys and decoding mysterious rhymes, the children are led deep into the enchanted world of nature by a magical gold compass. With a small grizzly bear as a guide and mentor, the children encounter one electrifying adventure after another. As Sophie regains consciousness in the mouth of the biggest bear she’s ever seen and Ben frees a wolf from a hunter’s steel trap, the children not only learn the Secret of Life, but find their courage, power and determination to succeed.
Author: Glenda Lay has a background in spiritual and personal development and facilitating meditation groups and workshops. She is a published author and writes articles on all things metaphysical. Her main aim in life is to empower others with knowledge on how to understand and live a better life from a spiritual viewpoint. Working in Early Childhood and raising three children, Kim Lane believes in the importance of ensuring children are provided with support and encouragement, enabling them to build a strong, positive foundation for life and learning. Kim wanted to create a book for children that inspired their imagination and also facilitated learning by provoking thought and open discussion. Illustrator: Graeme Compton is a visual artist who is fascinated by the real and the imagined. He enjoys exploring the psyche, symbolism, compassion, communication and comedy. Graeme embodies his ideas in the form of elephants, dragons, birds and all manner of creatures, often anthropomorphising or zoomorphising his subjects. His styles range from realism, through surrealism to illustrations and cartoons. He uses pencils, inks and acrylics on a variety of surfaces. He also delights painting with pixels. He has won a number of art prizes and, since 2013, has illustrated 17 books for various authors including Pat Clare, Cassidy Jackson-Carroll and Gaille Walton. The tale of the adventures of Ben and Sophie, which he has illustrated with immense pleasure for Glenda Lay and Kim Lane, is his 18th children’s book commission. In June 2021, Graeme held his first exhibition of fine art, ELEPHANTASIA – a trumpeting success. Website: www.artgracom.com
