Fans, friends and colleagues tell their stories of seeing, knowing and working with Bob Dylan from his hometown of Hibbing right through to finding Jesus - with first hand accounts of seeing him live from the smallest of venues to festivals and arenas. From early recording sessions through the 1966 tour; from the rural seclusion of Woodstock to turning gospel this book reveals a contemporary view of the younger Dylan.
Neil Cossar, a former musician, was the guitarist in the late 70's - 80's group The Cheaters, (who signed to Parlophone Records, but never troubled the charts). Continually gigging in 1982, were awarded 'Hardest working band of the year' by BBC Radio 1 after playing 321 gigs and recording an album! During the 90's Neil worked as a radio DJ in Manchester, England presenting a late night show which featured countless 'new acts' in session including Radiohead, Blur, The Charlatans, Lenny Kravitz, PJ Harvey, The Cranberries and Tori Amos. He also runs a PR company with his partner Liz Sanchez - their clients have included - Def Leppard, INXS, Joan Baez, Glen Campbell, Jean Michel Jarre, Natalie Imbruglia, The Hollies, Feist, The Stranglers, Barenaked Ladies and UB40.
One on one encounters from a huge and varied list of contributors including ordinary fans, fellow musicians, producers, soundmen, journalists and photographers the book combines these many impressions of Dylan into a panoramic eye witness account of both his record output and live performances throughout the `60s and `70s. Famous names to be found having their say include Richie Havens, Mike Bloomfield, Joan Baez, John Mayall, Roger McGuinn, Jimi Hendrix, DA Pennebaker, Muff Winwood, Robbie Robertson, John Lennon and a proverbial host of others.
