This third edition (2018) Camper Trailer Book details every aspect of camper trailers and their use. It describes in plain English approaches that will work, not just that may work. Camper trailers offer the freedom and pleasures of camping without the discomfort. A well-made one can be towed almost anywhere its towing vehicle can traverse. The Camper Trailer Book details all aspects of camper trailers and their use. As with all Collyn Rivers’s books it describes approaches that will work, not just that may work. The author, an ex motor research engineer, has crossed Australia and back via dirt tracks much of the way over 12 times, plus Africa and the Sahara twice
Now located in Church Point, NSW, the author was originally trained as ground radar engineer the (UK) Royal Air Force. He then work briefly at de Havilland (UK) on guided missile development, then as a Research Engineer at Vauxhall Bedford’s Research Chaul End Laboratory (UK). Associated with that he drove a big Bedford mobile testing vehicle twice across the full length and breadth of Africa – including two full Sahara crossings. He migrated to Australia in 1964 initially designing engineering testing equipment. In 1970, he changed careers to found Electronics Today International magazine over 10 years established separate editions in the UK, Canada, Holland, Germany, Indonesia and India. By 1976 it was the world’s largest. He then ran that, plus all of the then ACP’s technical books and magazine worldwide. He set up his own technical publishing company in 1982 – and was also technical editor of The Bulletin until 1990. He then wrote the Federal Govt’s Guide to Information Technology plus writing and publishing five (still current) books in the RV and solar area. He also edited the Caravan Buyers Guide. His (Finnish) wife – Maarit Rivers is a child psyschologist.
The Camper Trailer Book is totally unique – yet sells very well. The Camper Trailer Book is technically first-class yet written in plain English. The Camper Trailer Book is produced in small print runs and updated between each.
