- Beryl the Brahman and her station of friends find themselves on an epic outback adventure. But what happens when they journey beyond the bounds of their big backyard? Come join Beryl and her mates on their expedition!
Sally is a grazier who grew up on a cattle station in Northwest Queensland, where she still lives and works today. She loves nothing more than sharing her life with her husband and children in the bush. She is your typical “jack of all trades” acting as mum, cook, ringer, gardener, bookkeeper and wife (to name a few). ‘Beryl the Brahman’ is her first children’s book based on the survival story of the orphaned calf Sally and her family saved – Beryl. To Sally, it is an ode to all the poddy calves who came into people’s lives and changed them in more ways than anyone could ever imagine.
Growing up on a family-run property near Werris Creek, New South Wales, Kate always made the time to sit and draw even though horse riding and farm work were high on her agenda. Cartoons have always felt like home to Kate, influenced by her rural life, farming, animals and memories spent with her Grandfather and her Pa. These days Kate is the wife of a crop farmer and mother of two girls. She is a self-taught artist whose cartoons and illustrations have kept her busy at home since having her first child in 2012. She has entered her drawings into art shows, completed picture books and done varying commission work. Humour is important to Kate and she likes to incorporate it wherever she can.
