My Grandma is a story about using our imagination. Written from the Granddaughter's point of view, Grandma tells her all the amazing adventures she wants to go on, and the little girl is inspired and wants to be just like her. Mum might think Grandma is a bit crazy, but we know she’s not! Using simple words and repetition, with brightly coloured illustrations on every page - children, parents and grandparents are bound to fall in love with Grandma’s amazing creativity.
Sarah Miegel is a brand-new author, with My Grandma being her debut book. She’s always enjoyed writing stories, and from a young age aspired to be a writer. Having her children’s book published is a dream come true. Sarah is currently a stay at home mum and plans to pursue a career following her passion for animals in the near future. Sarah lives in Adelaide with her husband, two daughters, three stepchildren, two greyhounds, three cats AND fish, frogs, birds and chickens. Kayla Lee is an Adelaide based artist and designer. With a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design, she embraces all art mediums to produce her works, however, she has a particular attraction to watercolour and digital art. Kayla has worked in various creative roles such as a digital graphic retoucher, photographer, graphic designer, illustrator and commissioned artist. Furthering her studies with a Master of Teaching, Kayla spends her days teaching concept art and design to senior school students. She enjoys working with young artists encouraging them to explore and develop their art practice. You can find more of her work at @kkaylalee on Instagram.
* Eye catching, colourful illustrations depicting fantastical scenes. * The easy to read text has a powerful, repeated refrain making it great for reading together and out loud. * Captures the power of imaginative play and creativity and should encourage all ages to dream big and explore, as everyone is a child at heart, with aspirations and the need to have fun. Shows a positive family relationship between a grandma and granddaughter, who are relatable characters.
