Julie Dolan is assistant professor of political science at Macalester College. She received a Ph.D. from American University in 1997 and won the NASPAA (National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration) award for the best dissertation in public administration that year. Her research interests include women and politics, bureaucratic and executive branch politics, public policy, and Congress. She has published in a variety of journals, including Women & Politics; Public Administration Review; PS: Political Science and Politics; and the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory. Marni Ezra is assistant professor of political science at Hood College. She received a Ph.D. from American University in 1996. Her areas of expertise are U.S. institutions and elections, with a specific focus on primary elections. She has published articles in a number of journals, including Electoral Studies; American Politics Quarterly; PS: Political Science and Politics; and Public Administration Review. She is also coeditor of Congressional Primaries and the Politics of Representation (2001).
