Corwin E. Smidt (Ph.D. University of Professor of Politcal Science and Director of the Paul B. Henry Institute for the Study of Christianity and Politics Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He co-author or editor numerous books, including The Bully Pulpit: The Politics of Protestant Clergy, The Culture Wars: Dispatches from the Field (1996), In God We Trust (2004), and, from Baylor University Press, Religion as a Social Capital (2003).
