Hilary McKay is the author of 'The Exiles, the joint winner of the 1992 Guardian Children's Fiction Award, and 'The Exilesat Home which won the Smarties Prize in 1995. Born in 1971, Rupert has drawn every day from a young age. Applying a humorous, expressive line and colourful technique, combined with the belief that it's the small details that bring an image to life, he has produced work for numerous children's book publishers around the world.
