Description

James C. Griffin III is a third-generation Aggie and was a member of the Corps of Cadets, company A-1, during his time at Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, he was commissioned into the army reserves and went on to become a career teacher. He currently resides near Mesquite, Texas.

"No item exemplifies the shared experience of the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets as much as its distinctive uniform. James C. Griffin III masterfully chronicles the evolution of this attire, from the traditional cadet gray of the late 1800s to today's iconic senior boots, Sam-Browne, and sabers. Richly illustrated with an accompanying narrative, this is a job well done."--John A. Adams, Jr. '73, author of Keepers of the Spirit: The Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University, 1876-2001--John A. Adams, Jr. '73
