Description

Jackie Frame was born in the UK, where she spent her teenage years and got her first job as a secretary at the BBC. She moved to the US and settled in Hollywood to begin a career that would take her from the music business to the world of film and television as well as live theatre and dance along the way. Never in front of the camera, she concentrated on her natural skills of organizing the myriad details required to put on special events. Starting with Vee Jay (who had the early Beatles recordings) she moved on to Liberty Records and then A&M, where she spent five years as special assistant to the president, Jerry Moss. Then it was on to the American Film Institute, housed in the legendary Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, where her office was the original laundry room complete with fold up ironing board still housed in the wall. Heading up AFI's Special Events Department, Jackie helped coordinate a series of fundraising film cruises as well as the annual "Life Achievement Award Tribute Dinner," which was also a network TV special. After five years with AFI, Jackie formed her own company, Event Management, handling special events for a variety or organizations, including the William Holden Wildlife Foundation, all three theatres at the Los Angeles Music Center, the Young Presidents Organization, the Los Angeles Library Foundation, and Amnesty International. She continued handling AFI's Life Achievement Award Dinner for the next 25 years, allowing her to rub shoulders with many of Hollywood's top celebrities. After giving up full time work, Jackie succumbed to her passions for travel and writing. She accomplished her ambition to go around the world as well as visit more than 100 countries.
