After meeting while travelling in India, Nick Fabbri, a dentist from London and Terysa Vanderloo, a paramedic from Australia, moved to London and found the sailing community in the little Kentish town of Conyer more attractive than the vibrant nightlife of the UK capital. Eventually, weekend races turned into weekend cruises, which eventually became sailing trips to France, then a summer in the Mediterranean. Before they knew it, they were on the other side of the Atlantic and wouldnt return home for nearly a decade. During that time, the couple captured their adventures for their blog and YouTube channel, Sailing Ruby Rose, pioneering the highly engaging genre of sailing vlogs in the process. Theyve been liveaboard sailing for over 10 years now, and share everything theyve learned the hard way in their new book, The Boat Life Manual.
