Marlo Carter Kirkpatrick, who has called Mississippi home for more than twenty years. She is the author of Mississippi Off the Beaten Path (Globe Pequot Press) and has collaborated with her husband, a wildlife photographer, on award-winning books including Lost in the Amazon: The True Story of Five Men and their Desperate Battle for Survival.
