Reviews

Martin Hengel -- University of Tuebingen "A well-written, concise introduction to Paul's activities as a missionary based on his letters and Luke's Acts of the Apostles. The book is full of valuable scholarly information and takes a special look at discussed Pauline problems." D. A. Carson -- Trinity Evangelical Divinity School "This wonderful book will certainly become auxiliary reading in the courses I teach on Acts and Paul. It puts together Acts and Paul's own writings in a fashion that is believable, attentive to the texts themselves, and full of life and vitality. Above all, Paul is simultaneously grounded in history and shown to be utterly captured by Christ and his gospel. Insights into the biblical material leap from many pages. I hope this volume will circulate widely." Expository Times "A significant volume that tackles many issues with incisive clarity and refreshing brevity. . . . A highly accessible introduction to some of the most important issues surrounding the study of Paul." Review of Biblical Literature "Paul Barnett's book on the apostle Paul is a fine contribution to the literature. Barnett's writing style is flowing, easy to follow, and often elegant. . . . This volume is extremely interesting." Trinity Journal "Student and scholar alike will benefit from this volume, particularly as a rich, yet readable introduction to Paul." Scottish Bulletin of Evangelical Theology "Undoubtedly, this will be a helpful resource for scholars, church leaders and all those interested in the life and ministry of Paul."
