Reviews

School Library Journal (starred review)

"It takes brilliance to unite science and creativity, but Simler has done just that in a versatile work appropriate for English, writing, or science lessons. . . . An essential purchase; this standout work of illustrated poems encourages readers to consider wild creatures homes and compare their similar needs to our own."

The Marginalian

"A vibrant catalogue of natures creativity . . . Dazzling."

Shelf Awareness (starred review)

"Simler (Sweet Dreamers) depicts the adaptability and creativity of the animal kingdom through illustrations of astounding, unusual, and breathtaking dwellings...Brilliantly colored digital, pencil-like strokes layer together like grass in a woven nest to make up each of Simlers illustrations. Her poems combine imagery and habitat facts in a clever, often playful voice that encourages readers to see the wonder and fun of the natural world."

The Wall Street Journal

"[A] beautiful work of natural history."

Booklist (starred review)
