Description

Laurence M. Hauptman is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History in the State University of New York, College at New Paltz, and the author of several books on the Iroquois in New York state. L. Gordon McLester III, an enrolled member and formal Tribal Secretary of the Oneida Nation of Indians of Wisconsin, is the founder of the Oneida Indian Historical Society and coordinator of the Oneida Indian History Conferences. Among their books, Hauptman and McLester are coauthors of Chief Daniel Bread and the Oneida Nation of Indians of Wisconsin.
