You can't understand the war without reading this. -- Thomas E. Ricks, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Fiasco and The Generals This is a superb account of selected generals leading American forces during the Battle of the Bulge. Morelock explores the character and careers of these men and explains why some of them failed as leaders during the bitter fighting in the Ardennes while other succeeded.
