The presidential elections of 2000 and 2004 were two of the most contested and dramatic in our nation's history. During the election seasons of 2000 and 2004, the Annenberg Public Policy Center conducted the largest studies ever undertaken of the American electorate-the National Annenberg Election Survey (NAES). Capturing Campaign Dynamics, 2000 and 2004 provides the data from these two surveys to the general public as well as useful tools for analyzing and interpreting the findings. Daniel Romer is Associate Director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center and Director of the Adolescent Risk Communication Institute of APPC at the University of Pennsylvania. Kate Kenski teaches in the Department of Communication at the University of Arizona. Kenneth Winneg is Managing Director of the National Annenberg Election Survey. Christopher Adasiewicz is the Data Manager for NAES. Kathleen Hall Jamieson, who directs NAES, is Elizabeth Ware Packard Professor of Communication at the Annenberg School for Communication, the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, and coeditor of Electing the President, 2000: The Insiders' View, also published by the University of Pennsylvania Press.
