Melissa Graboyes is an associate professor of African history and medical history at the University of Oregon. Her research focuses on the history of science, medicine, and global health in East Africa. She is always looking for ways to bring her research into the classroom, and runs the Global Health Research Group at the University of Oregon. Jennifer Tappan is an associate professor of African history at Portland State University. Her research focuses on the history of global health in Africa and her work has appeared in Health and Place, the International Journal of African Historical Studies, and Global Health in Africa: Historical Perspectives on Disease Control.
