Description

Between 1974 and 2003 Colin Rogers was a police officer with South Wales Police, serving as a Constable, Sergeant and Inspector in a variety of uniformed and investigative roles. In 1998 he took up a part-time post as lecturer in Criminology at the University of Glamorgan, where he also completed his doctorate on partnership policing in 2002. On retiring from the police Dr Rogers was appointed Senior (now Principal) Lecturer in Police Sciences at Glamorgan. Since 2003 he has also been an Associate Lecturer with the Open University. He has published widely on policing and community safety. Tim Read has been a Senior Lecturer in Police Science at the University of Glamorgan since 2007. Previously he was senior research consultant for Evidence Led Solutions, a research consultancy working in the community safety field. Between 2001 and the end of 2005 he was a senior lecturer in Community Safety and Crime Prevention at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Prior to taking up the post at UWE he worked for the Research and Statistics Directorate of the Home Office for over 8 years, starting as a research officer, ending as a principal research officer, conducting and managing research into the police.
