David Dreyer is a visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University. His research focuses on international security, issue conflict, rivalry, and democracy. William R. Thompson is the Rogers Professor of Political Science at Indiana University and is currently the president of the International Studies Association. The author of more than 25 book, his more recent works include The Great Power and Global Struggle, 190-1990 (with Karen Rasler).
