Laurie Materna is a professor of nursing at Milwaukee Area Technical College. She has integrated brain-compatible learning methodologies into nursing theory and clinical courses, and has coached many educators individually and through group inservices on developing brain-compatible strategies for specific classes. Materna has appeared before college and professional groups throughout the United States, and presented at the Brain Expo in San Diego in 2005. She earned a doctoral degree in education through Capella University.
