Shulamith Lala Ashenberg Straussner, PhD, DSW, LCSW, is Professor Emerita at the Silver School of Social Work, New York University. She is Founding Editor of the Journal of Social Work Practice in the Addictions and was inducted as a Social Work Pioneer by the National Association of Social Workers. Dr. Straussner is a board member of the Fulbright Israel Interest Group and a three-time Fulbright Senior Scholar, in Israel, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic. She is the author or editor of over 25 books and numerous book chapters, refereed journal articles, and other publications.
