John Tyson has been a freelance photographer and writer since 1996. His B.S. degree has prepared him for a career in the fields of education and ecology and field biology. John's lifelong love of nature is evidenced by his work for many national magazines, calendars, and book publishers. John has been hiking in North America for more than twenty-five years and enjoys biking, canoeing, kayaking, and birding. He resides in Eagle River, Alaska, where he makes his home in the Chugach Mountains with his wife Madelyn.
