John Howells is the author of coauthor of several books for Globe Pequot about retirement locations, including Choose the South, Choose Mexico, and Choose Costa Rica, and he writes for magazines such as Consumers Digest and Where to Retire. Teal Conroy says she was inspired by her grandfather, John Howells, to travel the world. She graduated from University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, creative writing. She published her first children's book, The Watermelon Queen, in 2018. She has held a long career in educational advancement while continuing to act as a contributing writer to various printed and web publications. She currently lives in Marin County, California, with her husband, Kevin, her two children, and her two rescued dogs.
