Dr. Shelagh Larkin is a licensed independent social worker who obtained her Ph.D. and MSW in social work from the University of Kentucky. She has 36 years of experience in practice and social work education. Her practice experience is in the areas of mental health, child welfare, and eating disorders. She has worked at various client system levels, including with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Dr. Larkin served as the director for field education for 25 years at Xavier University where she was responsible for all aspects of the practicum program. She has also taught individual, family, and group practice courses and is currently an assistant professor at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Jaylene Krieg Schaefer is a licensed independent social worker who obtained her PhD in social work from Indiana University and her MSW from University of Kentucky. She has more than 30 years of practice experience in child protection, home visitation, adolescent mental health, program administration, and medical social work. Dr. Schaefer has taught both BSW and MSW students in some capacity since 1998. She is currently an associate professor and chair for the social work department at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
