Alan Toogood received his horticultural training at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and at the Royal Horticultural Societys Garden at Wisley. He was editor of Greenhouse magazine and further worked as a horticultural journalist for Gardeners Chronicle and Amateur Gardening magazines.
