Brenda J. Lane, LCCE, CD (DONA), a practicing childbirth educator since 1993, as well as a certified doula and doula trainer who has attended more than 300 births, is the director of certification for Doulas of North America. She is the feature writer on pregnancy and childbirth issues for suite101.com. She lives in Arnold, Maryland. Ilana T. Kirsch, MD, received her medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine, and was formerly on the teaching faculty at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She has delivered more than 2,000 babies. Dr. Kirsch lives with her husband and two children in South Bend, Indiana.
