Faith E. Beasley is professor of French at Dartmouth College and editor of Cahiers du dix-septieme. She is the author of Revising Memory: Women's Fiction and Memoirs in Seventeenth-Century France and Salons and the Cremation of Seventeenth-Century France: Mastering Memory and editor, with Katharine Ann Jensen, of Approaches to Teaching The Princess of Cleves. She is working on a book-length study of the influence contact with India had on France's Grand Siecle.
