Max Lomas was born just after World War Two and grew up in country towns in South Australia. He went with his parents to Papuain the 1960s, dabbled with 'hippie' communeideals and anti-war protest in the seventies, and became a teacher for a number of years, ending up in New South Wales after travels to all the places referred to in his poetry collection. Some of the poems have been aired on radio and published in small magazines in Australia, Singapore, Hawai'i and India.
