Born on Fort George Island, Margaret Sam-Cromarty is a renowned Eeyou poet in Eeyou Istchee. She has published three books and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cree Native Arts and Crafts Association in 2021. Originally from Montreal, Isabella Huberman is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia. She researches Indigenous stories of hydroelectric development. Elise Couture-Grondin lives in Tio'tia:ke. She teaches and researches Indigenous literatures and life writing.
