Paeivi Hoikkala earned her Ph.D. in history at Arizona State University, with a focus on Native American history and the history of women and the American West. She lectures in the History Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Her most recent publication, ""Native American History and Culture,"" appeared in the Oxford Encyclopedia of American Social History. Eileen V. Wallis earned her Ph.D. from the University of Utah with a focus on the history of California and the American West. She teaches in the History Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where she offers courses in southern California and California history; the American southwest; American women's history; medical and disability history; and public and digital history. She is the author of numerous scholarly articles and two books: Earning Power: Women and Work in Los Angeles, 1880-1930 and California and the Politics of Disability, 1850-1970.
