Description
Praise for the Previous Editions "This text fills the gap by explicitly providing content and illustrations that connect developmental considerations of children and adolescents to the counselors use of theory, problem assessment, and interventions for both school counselors and clinical mental health practitioners with attention to serving culturally diverse youth populations." Sarah Brant-Rajahn, Messiah University "I have been utilizing Ann Vernon's Counseling Children and Adolescents textbook in my Counselor Education programs since 2009, and I absolutely love her work. Her book is very understandable, engaging, and timely. Her case studies are highly applicable, and teaching adjuncts that are provided with the text (multiple choice questions, essay questions, class activities, and manual) are excellent pedagogical supplements that complement her text superbly - some of the best my students and I have ever experienced!" Suzanne A. Whitehead, Ed.D., LMHC, NCC, MAC, LAC, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator - Counselor Education, California State University, Stanislaus "This text offers an approachable application to counseling children and teens. The conversational tone makes it palatable; the terrific content makes it relevant." Elizabeth Keller-Dupree, Associate Professor of Psychology, Northeastern State University "This text is by far the best I have used in my 20 plus years as a counselor educator for our counseling children and counseling adolescents courses. It provides just the right mix of current research and theory along with concise case examples that bring to life the most important content. The topics covered are especially appropriate for our school counseling M.Ed. students." Greg Brigman, Ph.D., Professor of Counselor Education, Florida Atlantic University "Well-organized book that is easy to read. Every chapter starts with a case example that sets the tone for the material that will be discussed. Authors provide multiple examples and developmentally appropriate interventions that make the book even more valuable." Hanna Lainas, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Texas A&M International University
