Reviews
Clotilde Brewster was a trailblazing architect of serious talent, who was encouraged by Norman Shaw, articled to Reginald Blomfield, and designed palaces in Italy, as well as country houses and cottages in England. Laura Fitzmaurice’s deeply researched monograph is the first major study of Clotilde’s work and a revelation of the challenges and triumphs of her extraordinary life. – Jeremy Musson, architectural historian, writer, consultant and lecturer
