Michael Maslinski spent fifteen years devotedly caring for his wife Maggie after she was diagnosed with dementia, including nine years living together in a care home. It is this unique experience which has motivated him to write this book, so that others may benefit from the insights and lessons of his experience. He was formerly a senior banker with Coutts until 1995, when he founded his own strategic consultancy, advising private banks, wealth managers and family offices around the world. In 2011 he also became a partner in Europe's market leading family office business, Stonehage Fleming. He had a significant influence on the development of the wealth management sector globally over a twenty year period, which is recognised by two 'lifetime achievement' awards. He has been involved in several major charities as a trustee, and one smaller charity as the joint founder. This is Michael's first book, but he has previously written extensively on the wealth management sector in professional publications and in national and international newspapers such as the Financial Times, The Telegraph, Time Magazine and The Economist.
