Nicole Bukaty is a Scotland-based author and long-distance walker, originally from Krakow, Poland, raised between London and France. She has lived in Colombia, Spain and Russia, experiences that deepened her love of languages, travel and cultural exchange. She holds a BA in Philosophy and Hispanic Studies and an MA in Philosophy from King's College London, and is also a French and Spanish teacher. Her pilgrimage guidebooks include Walking La Via de la Plata and Camino Sanabres and Walking the Via Francigena, Part 4, the latter co-authored with pilgrimage expert Sandy Brown. Her new guidebook to the St Olav Way in Norway, along the Gudbrandsdalsleden route, is set for publication next. Alongside her writing, she speaks at national pilgrim conferences, contributes to podcasts and interviews, and runs local events dedicated to walking culture.
