Author:
Tracey Hinton has a PhD in Molecular Virology but has always had a love of nature and wildlife. She spends her time volunteering with several local Geelong environmental organisations and has travelled the world to expand her knowledge and experiences in the amazing natural world. She has worked with green and hawksbill turtles in Papau New Guinea. Studied the animal and bird populations in Costa Rica, Madagascar and South Africa. She has also worked at the Felidae Centre in South Africa caring for rescued cheetahs, lions and other African wildlife. Having had wonderful encounters with penguins in Antarctica and Australia Tracey was inspired to write a fun and educational book, hopefully inspiring more people about the wonderful world of wildlife and to take a more active interest in the environment around them.

Growing up on the coast with the sound of waves and seabirds as her backdrop, Nandina Vines has been creating stories and pictures for as long as she can remember. She wrote, illustrated and compiled her very first children’s book at just nine years old, sparking a lifelong passion for storytelling through art. Now living in the beautiful rural Hunter Valley, she draws inspiration from the bush, wildlife, and peaceful rhythms of nature. Her love of animals and the outdoors shines through in every joyful, whimsical illustration she creates.
