Kusal Goonewardena is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with nearly thirty years of clinical experience and close to 100,000 patient sessions. He is the founder of Elite Akademy Sports Medicine in Melbourne and serves as Head of Sports Medicine for the Elite Athlete Program at the University of Melbourne, where he is also completing a PhD in muscle fatigue.
Throughout his career Kusal has worked across elite sport, clinical practice, and university education, applying a systems-based approach to human performance, pain, recovery, and nervous system function. He supervises doctoral researchers at the University of Melbourne and teaches the methodology at the heart of this book to physiotherapy students and practicing clinicians.
